1. Introduction
This manual is published in terms of Section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (PAIA). It provides information on how to request access to records held by The Archive and Heritage Group (Pty) Ltd.

3. Guide on How to Use PAIA
The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) has compiled a guide on how to use PAIA. This guide is available from the SAHRC.
4. Records Available Without a PAIA Request
The following records are freely available through this system:
- Published archival descriptions
- Authority records
- Repository information
- Digital objects with public access status
5. How to Make a Request
Requests for access to records must be made on the prescribed form (Form C) and directed to the Information Officer. The form is available from the SAHRC website.
6. Fees
Fees may be payable as prescribed by the Act.
7. Remedies
If a request is refused, the requester may lodge an internal appeal or apply to a court.
